Jennifer Marvel, May Festival 2010 Bio
Jennifer Marvel is a writer, actress and singer from a wee little town in New Jersey. While many wait their whole lives for true love, Jennifer experienced an endless case of the butterflies in the first grade when she picked up a No. 2 pencil. She has produced four original one acts; Fanatic and Death by Psychology (2009 Finalist) as part of the Shotgun Theatre Festival at Gene Frankel Theatre, NYC and Odd Jobs at the 45th Street Theatre, NYC. Her most recent play, Last Encounters premiered at The Shell Theatre in The Times Square Arts Center. Since the premiere, Jennifer has been working with Left Hip Productions to further develop the play. A staged reading of Last Encounters was also held at The Jersey Shore Arts Center.
Other writing credits include her role as Editor-in-Chief of The Crow’s Nest, an art and literary magazine that allowed innovative artists and writers to showcase their work and Bus Stop Girl, an original screenplay that will be going into production later this year.
Besides writing, Jennifer has studied theater at The Actor’s Training Institute under John Eyd for over three years. Most recent was her performance in Jake's Women (2009 NJACT Perry Award Nominee for Outstanding Actress) and the indie film, Love Chaos. She is also the singer/songwriter for The Arecibo Message.
